Queen Elizabeth's coffin arrives at Holyrood House in Edinburgh

The procession carrying the coffin of Britain's late Queen Elizabeth II arrived at Holyrood House in Edinburgh on Sunday, where it will stay overnight, after the road trip from Balmoral.

Earlier, the British "PA Media" agency reported that citizens began crowding the village of Ballater to see the coffin as it passed through the village on its way to Edinburgh.

The village is located about eight miles east of Balmoral.

This is the beginning of the Queen's last trip, which will end with the funeral service on September 19.
