China News Service, March 11. According to Agence France-Presse, on the 10th, Panama reported a death case of new crown pneumonia, the first death case of new crown pneumonia in Central America. The country states that eight people have been diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.

"Among the eight reported patients with new coronary pneumonia, one is in intensive care and one has died unfortunately," Rosario Turner, Panama's health minister reportedly said.

It was reported that the deceased was a 64-year-old male patient who also suffered from diabetes complications related to bacterial pneumonia during his lifetime. Seven other patients with positive results of the new coronavirus, aged between 29 and 59, have recently traveled abroad.

The Panamanian government has ordered the closure of public and private schools in the affected areas until April 7. At the same time, the Ministry of Health called on people to "keep calm and observe precautionary measures."
