“Of course, the debate did not take place. It was the election speech of Petro Poroshenko and his press conference. From the very beginning, it became clear that the situation will develop along such a path. Of course, Zelensky’s non-participation in this submission is more likely to harm more than it benefits him as a candidate. But, nevertheless, I believe that Poroshenko did not get the desired effect from today's action, ”said the expert.
According to him, the speech of the acting head of state was not as bright as Poroshenko’s supporters announced.
“There was no new information, there were no memorable jokes or statements from the Ukrainian leader. The event was more like a show, and it is very interesting how Zelensky will react to repeated appeals to him from Poroshenko. Of course, the latter is not interested in at least some discussion taking place, ”Mezyuho believes.
Earlier, Zelensky did not come to the Olympic Stadium to participate in the debate with his opponent Poroshenko.
The headquarters of Zelensky said that the debate should be held on April 19 at 19:00.
