US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his Brazilian counterpart Ernest Araujo believe that Cuba, Russia and China should stop supporting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The corresponding statement was published by the press service of the US State Department following a telephone conversation between Pompeo and Araujo.

It is noted that the heads of foreign ministries intend to continue cooperation to resolve the political, economic and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.

"They also reaffirmed the need for external forces, including Cuba, Russia and China, to stop supporting Nicolas Maduro," the statement said.

Earlier, Pompeo accused Russia of illegally “interfering” in the affairs of Venezuela.
