Fabiano Caruana has come in the eighth game of the World Chess Championship against World Champion Magnus Carlsen despite interim advantages only to a draw. The first seven games had also ended with a division of points.

Between both opponents it stands after eight games 4: 4. For a win there would be a point, in the case of a draw both opponents receive half each. Who reaches 6.5 points first, crowns the world champion. In case of a tie after 12 games a tiebreak occurs. After a rest day, the World Cup duel on Wednesday (16 clock) continues.
