Brothers of Italy made a successful election and became Italy's largest party with 26 percent of the vote.

Now, on Saturday, the party will form a government together with Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia party and Lega, which has far-right roots.

The Brothers of Italy, which has its roots in a fascist party, is thus led by 45-year-old Giorgia Meloni, whose politics are based, among other things, on opposition to the EU, "mass immigration" and what she describes as the LGBTQ lobby.

They become ministers

In addition to the new prime minister, several other appointments are ready.

Lega politician Giancarlo Giorgetti, who was economic development minister in Mario Draghi's previous government, will become finance minister.

One of the co-founders of the Brothers of Italy, Guido Crosetto, becomes Minister of Defense and Antonio Tajani of Forza Italia becomes Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The ultra-conservative Catholic Eugenia Maria Roccella is appointed Minister of Family and Gender Equality.

Giorgia Meloni has previously said that she will continue to support Ukraine.
