The Head of State holds a meeting in Athens with the President of Greece
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, "may God protect him", held a meeting today in Athens with Katrina Sakila Ropollo, President of the friendly Republic of Greece.
At the beginning of the meeting, which took place at the presidential palace, Her Excellency Katrina Sakila Ropolo welcomed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and congratulated His Highness on his assumption of the presidency of the United Arab Emirates, hoping that His Highness' visit would enhance the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two friendly countries and peoples.
She stressed that Greece considers the UAE a strategic partner and said that the two countries have a common vision towards peace, security and prosperity in the region.
Her Excellency added that in recent years, relations between the two countries have been strengthened, expressing her confidence that there are many additional opportunities to strengthen these relations in several areas. His Highness expressed his happiness with the increasing development witnessed by the relations between the two countries in recent years. His Highness indicated that despite the challenge of the "Corona" pandemic, the trade exchange during the last two years increased by 17 percent.
During the meeting, they reviewed the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them.
The two sides discussed the overall events and developments on the regional and international arenas and exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.
