The two shots rang out around 8 p.m. Sunday evening on the Place de la République, in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine).

A 15-year-old boy was targeted by two gunshots while on board a Star network bus.

While at the bus stop, the Line 9 driver saw six people get on and attack one of the bus occupants.

Beaten, the victim would have tried to defend himself.

One of the attackers would then have taken out "a handgun" according to the Rennes police, before firing twice.

The 15-year-old boy was shot in the left hand.

The firefighters took care of him and transported him to the South Hospital in a state of relative emergency.

Shocked, the bus driver was also hospitalized at CHU Pontchaillou.

The victim and his attackers knew each other

When the police arrived, the attackers had already fled.

They are actively sought after.

According to initial findings, they knew the victim even if the reasons for the attack are not yet known.

The investigation was entrusted to the departmental security.
