Anne Hidalgo announced her candidacy for the 2022 presidential election on Sunday from Rouen.

A decision that made a lot of talk in Spain, especially in Cadiz in Andalusia, the city where the mayor of Paris is from.

Several ministers in the Sanchez government also reacted to the news.

The socialist mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo embarked on the race for the Elysee on Sunday in Rouen, a candidacy to "build a fairer France" and "reinvent the beautiful French model", which adds to the many already identified in left.

But one thing is certain, this announcement made a lot of noise in Spain, where the press widely addressed the subject on Sunday evening.

"She comes back to see us almost every year"

"A woman from Cadiz (Andalusia) is setting out to conquer the Elysee Palace" announced the presenter of the public channel TVE.

In a long article, the daily

El Pais

 returned to its Andalusian roots.

Granddaughter of Republican, daughter of immigrants, arrived in France at the age of two and a half with her family.

"Hidalgo is embarking on an uncertain adventure, the polls give him only 10% of the lanes for the moment", one can read in the newspaper.

The subject is also on the front page of the

Diario de Cadiz. 

"His departure for France did not take him away from Andalusia. His family has always continued to speak Spanish and she has also retained an accent from Cadiz", assures the newspaper. "She comes back to see us almost every year." The announcement of his candidacy was also applauded on Twitter by several ministers in the Sanchez government. "Courageous Anne Hidalgo," wrote the Minister of Education in particular.
