The rescue service's appeal: "Do not miss New Year's fireworks"

Many municipalities have local regulations that fireworks may be fired between certain times on New Year's Eve.

Then people over the age of 18 can handle fireworks without a permit.

Despite this, the rescue service is allowed to go on fires and accidents caused by fireworks in the weeks around Christmas and New Year.

And most often it is minors who are involved in accidents in connection with the firing of fireworks, according to Fredrik Eriksson at Mälardalen Fire and Rescue Association.
