Weimar (dpa / th) - The parliamentary group of the AfD has failed with an urgent application against the Thuringian Corona regulation before the constitutional court of the state.

The party wanted to overturn the regulations prohibiting the serving and consumption of alcohol in public, the nocturnal exit restrictions and the ban on selling and burning pyrotechnics on New Year's Eve.

Unsuccessful, as the court announced on Monday in Weimar.

The alleged encroachments on fundamental rights are of rather minor importance with a view to the objectives of the regulation, namely effective protection against infection and the protection of the life and health of the population, and are therefore to be accepted temporarily, according to the reasoning. On the question of the ban on the sale of pyrotechnics, the court also pointed out that this was based on federal regulations. The Thuringian Constitutional Court could not decide on this because of a lack of jurisdiction.
