A new agreement between Eskilstuna Municipality and the police for 2024–2027 has been concluded, where the goal is for Eskilstuna to no longer have vulnerable areas. An important part of this is to stop the recruitment of children and young people into crime.

The new agreement replaces the previous one, which lasted from 2020 to 2023. At that time, increased security, drug use among young people and a reduction in the number of violent crimes were the goals.

Is there a goal that you have not been able to meet?

"I'm sure there are several where there is potential for development. If there's one thing we've learned, it's to be effective when it comes to confiscating weapons and detaining more individuals," says local police area manager Oscar Nissfolk.

Otherwise, he is satisfied with the work that has been done.

The City Council will formally make a decision on the collaboration agreement on 14 December.
