The commander of the tank battalion, Yevgeny Volkov, told how the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces "stole their YRP-765 armored personnel carrier from under the noses" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, being under enemy fire. According to him, this is one of the first samples of captured Western equipment that stood at the Army-2023 forum.

Volkov noted that the tank battalion repelled enemy attacks in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

"Major Volkov's tank battalion repulsed all attacks by Ukrainian nationalists in the area of Rabotino and Verbovoe," the Defense Ministry said.

According to the military, the enemy was defeated, and equipment remained at some of its positions.

"After conducting reconnaissance, we arrived, looked at it and decided, together with the commanders and higher authorities, to take the vehicles. We were opened, of course, because we arrived in a tank, but the task was completed," Volkov said.

For courage and heroism, Volkov was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, and two Orders of Courage.
