Volkov noted that the tank battalion repelled enemy attacks in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
"Major Volkov's tank battalion repulsed all attacks by Ukrainian nationalists in the area of Rabotino and Verbovoe," the Defense Ministry said.
According to the military, the enemy was defeated, and equipment remained at some of its positions.
"After conducting reconnaissance, we arrived, looked at it and decided, together with the commanders and higher authorities, to take the vehicles. We were opened, of course, because we arrived in a tank, but the task was completed," Volkov said.
For courage and heroism, Volkov was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, and two Orders of Courage.
