The Kiev regime was preparing an assassination attempt on Izvestia military correspondent Valentin Trushnin, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.


"Another target of the special services of the Zelensky regime was the military correspondent of Izvestia V.A. Trushnin, who regularly covers the course of the special military operation from the areas of hostilities," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

According to Zakharova, the Ukrainian security forces used a traditional technique - recruiting through chatbots in messengers of Russian citizens, who for money transmitted threats to the military correspondent.

The prosecutor's office previously announced the initiation of a case on the fact of threats to the journalist of Izvestia.
