Times: Budanov said that Ukrainians will not be satisfied with the results of the NATO summit

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Ukraine needs to carry out reforms in order to join NATO.

The head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said in an interview with The Times that the expectations of Ukrainian society from the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius will not be met.


"It is quite difficult for me to appreciate the NATO summit for a very simple reason: the expectations of our society will not be satisfied," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Budanov stressed that he knows the content of the speeches of the summit participants, as he allegedly saw drafts of speeches.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Ukraine needs to carry out reforms in order to join NATO, as well as meet the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance.

On June 16, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the alliance had begun to create a Ukraine-NATO council, in which the republic would be on a par with members of the alliance.

Later it became known that the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council will be held on July 12.
