Highlights: The Swedish government is looking into ways to improve the quality of life in the country. The aim is to reduce the number of people living in poverty, especially among young people. The government is also looking at ways to make it easier for young people to get the most out of the state's social security system. The goal is to make sure that all young people have access to social services. The most important thing is for them to be able to go to school and get a good education. The best way to make this happen is to have a well-educated workforce.

There is concern about the drug situation among restaurant employees in the county, according to a new survey that the County Administrative Board of Västmanland has taken part of. Karin Granlund's restaurant O'learys has been included in the survey. "We have been asking for resources like this for Västerås for a long time, so it felt like a matter of course for us to be involved," she says.

Last year, several county administrative boards in the country conducted a survey to find out how restaurant staff, security guards, police and municipal administrators view the situation regarding the use of drugs in pubs and entertainment, and how these conditions can be changed for the better.

The study showed that 70 percent of restaurant staff in the country reported seeing guests under the influence of drugs at the pub in the place where they work in the past year.

Hope to improve cooperation

In the hope of being able to reduce the use of drugs at the pub, the County Administrative Board wants to start collaborating with several restaurants and taverns in the county.

– In the preventive work, it is important to make visible what the use and availability of drugs in connection with alcohol serving looks like and what values and knowledge exist in the restaurant environment, says Eva-Linnéa Eriksson, County Administrative Board of Västmanland.
