New Year's curfew introduced in Latvia

The Latvian government has decided to extend the state of emergency due to the coronavirus until February 7, a curfew will be imposed on the New Year.


This is stated in a message on the government website.

It is noted that all citizens of the country will have to stay at home from 22:00 to 05:00 in the period from December 30 to January 4, as well as January 8 and 9.

The government asked citizens to stay at home during the New Year holidays and not visit.

On December 3, the head of the Emergency Medical Service of Latvia, Liene Tsipule, said that the country's health system already showed signs of a collapse caused by a coronavirus infection.
