Bayern is after the third victory in the fourth round match of the Champions League before moving into the second round. The Munich defeated AEK Athens 2-0 (1-0), both goals scored Robert Lewandowski (31st minute, penalty kick / 71). Athens have no chance after the fourth defeat to reach the last sixteen.

Bayern coach Niko Kovac had changed his team to five positions compared to the 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg. Mats Hummels, Leon Goretzka, Javi Martínez and Franck Ribéry moved into the starting lineup as well as Thomas Müller, whose late substitution on Saturday, especially through an Instagram post his wife Lisa had provided for conversation.

The first good opportunity, however, was the Greek champions: Vasilios Lampropoulos headed the ball past the far post after a corner kick (5.). On the other side Goretzka also failed shortly afterwards on head AEK keeper Vasilios Barkas (7). As a result, the game was much quieter: Bayern struggled in vain to find ways behind the five-string of guests. Much was reminiscent of the insane attack on Saturday.

Ibrahimovic, Shevchenko, Di Stefano

Until AEK defender Uros Cosic Lewandowski tugged lightly in his own penalty area: Lewandowski gratefully accepted the contact, went down a bit theatrically, referee Matej Jug pointed to the penalty spot - a very tough decision. Lewandowski transformed in his 100th European Cup match in person, the 1-0 was his 48th goal in the Champions League. He drew in this statistic with the two striker legends Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andrei Shevchenko.

The man of the evening

Also at the beginning of the second half Barkas again parried against Goretzka (55.). Lewandowski missed after strong Martínez-Vorbeit initially still a possible second goal (61.), ten minutes later, he bugsierte but a Kimmich corner at the far post acrobatic into the net. Number 49 in the Champions League - his second goal brought him in the eternal scorers list on par with Real Madrid's scorer of the fifties and sixties, Alfredo di Stefano.

On November 27, the Munich have the chance to prematurely make the move into knockout stages. Then in the home game against Benfica even a defeat with one hit difference. The group finale for the FCB will take place on December 12th in Amsterdam.
