Formula 1 celebrates its race premiere in Vietnam in April 2020. This was confirmed by the World Federation Fia. Dangers are on a street circuit in Hanoi. It is the first new track to be added to the racing calendar under the leadership of US owner Liberty Media.

The course in Hanoi will be 5,565 kilometers long and have 22 turns. It is partially driven on new roads, partly on existing ones. Jointly responsible for the design of the track is the long-time Formula 1 course architect Hermann Tilke. After Monaco, Baku and Singapore, it will be the fourth street circuit on which Formula One will race. In 2020, a city race in Miami should also be added.

"Since entering sports in 2017, we've talked about finding new places to add to the appeal of Formula One, and we're implementing that with the Vietnam Grand Prix," said Formula One CEO Chase Carey. who already described the race as one of the highlights in the Formula One calendar.

In the 2019 season, the premier class rides five times in Asia: in Bahrain (March 31), China (April 14), Singapore (September 22), Japan (October 13) and Abu Dhabi (December 1).
