Mercedes has won the Constructors' Championship in Formula 1 for the fifth time in a row. At the Brazilian Grand Prix, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won ahead of Max Verstappen and Kimi Raikkonen. Ferrari would have had to catch at least 13 points on Mercedes to have another chance in the team standings.

In Interlagos needed world champion Hamilton but the help of Esteban Ocon. Sebastian Vettel did not get past the sixth place.

Starting from fifth place Verstappen continued to fight forward - and showed on lap 40 a spectacular overtaking maneuver. At the end of the start-finish straight, he pulled out of the slipstream at the leader Hamilton. Only four laps later, the Dutchman was the lead but again.

In a rounding of Esteban Ocon crashed the Force India pilot in the named after Ayrton Senna Senna S curve in Verstappen. The Red Bull driver turned, quickly came back on the track, but had yet to let Hamilton pass. Ocon got a ten-second stop-and-go penalty for the action.

Verstappen did not give up and went back up to one and a half seconds to Hamilton. In the end, the old and new world champion brought the narrow lead but the finish.

For Sebastian Vettel it was a used weekend. Despite having been fined before qualifying, he did not get past sixth in Interlagos, despite starting second.
