Just nine seconds had passed between SC Paderborn and Holstein Kiel, when Babacar Gueye used a misunderstanding in the Kiel back line for the lead for the hosts. It was the second fastest goal in second division history. Only Benjamin Siegert of SV Wehen Wiesbaden was on 5 October 2007 in the game against Greuther Fürth in eight seconds, an even faster hit.

Gueye's opening goal was to be the prelude to a spectacular match. Five minutes later, Kingsley Schindler made up for work by Jae-Sung Lee. But again only three minutes after the 1: 1 Philipp Klement brought the home side again in the lead. Ben Zolinski increased to 3: 1 (41st minute) before the break.

But that was not the end of the game. After the break, the storks turned the game. First, Janni Serra (71.) and Alexander Mühling (74.) made a second strike to equalize again. Then the guests even took the lead with a hand penalty converted by Schindler (80 ').

When everything looked like an away win, Paderborn beat back. In the last minute, Uwe Hünemeier, who had been promoted, put forward in front of Kieler Tor and headed for Zolinski, who came in from close range 4: 4.

Jahn Regensburg (Sunday, 13.30 clock in Magdeburg) and the VfL Bochum and Darmstadt 98, which meet directly on Monday night, but can still pass by both teams.
