As an Allsvenskan newcomer, IFK Värnamo finished tenth in 2022 and during the past season, the team finished in a sensational fifth place.

Now the head coach Kim Hellberg is leaving for an assignment in Hammarby. He replaces Spaniard Marti Cifuentes, who took over English Queens Park Rangers earlier this autumn.

"The football Hammarby wants to play and the direction the club wants to take fits well with the football coach and person I am. There are conditions to do something very good, and that's why I'm here," says Hellberg.

35-year-old Hellberg has previously been an assistant coach at IFK Norrköping and he has also managed IF Sylvia.

The coach has signed a three-year contract with "Bajen", who finished seventh in Allsvenskan in 2023.

Anes Mravac, who has been an assistant coach to Hellberg during the year, will lead IFK Värnamo next season.
