Five months ago, Persson underwent surgery on his shoulder and groin. The shoulder has been made more stable so that the ball does not go out of the bowl. And in the groin, a net has been locked in to support up. Although much rehab work remains to be done, Linn Persson is pleased to have completed the operations.

"If I think about the groin, there's a huge difference. I can run again, I couldn't do that all last year. It's a huge freedom to be able to do that and it has made it much more fun to train," Persson said by phone from the national team camp in Font Romeu, France.

She has made great progress in the rehab regarding the groin, the shoulder takes more time to get well.

"It goes a bit up and down, some days it gets a bit irritated and then I have to build up a little bit as I go. It's a process and I have to take it day by day.

Hope to compete this winter

The national team camp at high altitude is Linn Persson's first with the national team this summer. She does not yet dare to say when there might be a competition.

"Unclear, I'm not saying boo or boo. We'll see. It's too early to answer. Maybe the rehab works well, but I have to get fit enough to be able to participate. The focus is clearly to get good before I think about competition," she says.

Persson is prepared for the fact that it may take a very long time before she can compete again.

"But I definitely have hopes of being able to compete this winter.

The World Cup starts at the end of November. The big goal of the season is the World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic in February.
