Brighton sign Barcelona's Ansu Fati on loan

Many clubs would have liked to sign someone like Ansu Fati, who trained at FC Barcelona, on loan on today's deadline day, the end of the transfer window – the club of DFB debutant Pascal Groß, Brighton & Hove Albion has prevailed. The Seagulls are loaning the 20-year-old left winger until next summer – there is no option to buy. Next summer, the Spanish-Guinea-Bissau Fati will return to the Catalans, where he still has a contract running until June 30, 2027.

Fati, who had initially rejected a move, is said to have already reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur in the meantime. After a conversation with Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi, he changed his mind. At Barça, Fati never got beyond the role of reserve under coach Xavi. Despite the departure of Ousmane Dembélé to Paris Saint-Germain and the suspension of Raphinha, even the only 16-year-old Lamine Yamal on the wing was recently preferred in the starting eleven. Barça's interest in João Félix is said to have provided the final impetus for the move.

Nine-time Spain international Fati made his debut for Barça in August 2019, followed by 111 more competitive appearances with 29 goals and ten assists.

Bayern loan top talent Wanner to Elversberg

It wasn't until the beginning of January 2022 that Paul Wanner made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich – when he had just turned 16. But the great competition in midfield with Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer, Jamal Musiala and Thomas Müller ensured that Wanner only made six Bundesliga appearances and two appearances in the Champions League. Now he is to gain match practice in the second Bundesliga. FC Bayern have loaned the central midfielder to Saarland newcomers SV Elversberg. A similar system is played there as at Bayern. Wanner's position in the 4-2-3-1 would be that of the ten.

However, SVE was not Wanner's first choice. Previously, he is said to have been in agreement with Sturm Graz from the first Austrian league. However, the deal fell through because of Graz, as the Bavarians announced. Wanner had just turned down the Belgian club KAS Eupen under coach Florian Kohfeldt, who were also interested. The 17-year-old, whose mother is from Austria, could play for Germany or Austria in the future.

City bring in Nunes as a substitute for injured De Bruyne

Pep Guardiola, coach of English treble winners Manchester City, has found what he is looking for in his search for Kevin De Buyne. De Bruyne will be out for three or four months after an injury that requires surgery. He is replaced by Portuguese international Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Nunes has signed a five-year contract. Wolverhampton signed the flexible midfielder from Sporting Lisbon just a year ago for €45 million. City is now transferring around 55 million euros.

After the departure of İlkay Gündoğan to Barcelona, City had already signed Croatian international Mateo Kovačić from Chelsea. However, he usually acts more defensively. Nunes is now expected to plough the attack and, like De Bruyne or Gündoğan, play as an attacking midfielder right next to Erling Haaland.

The eleven-time Portugal international had a contract at Wolverhampton until 2027. Most recently, he was carried away by a training strike, as did Randal Kolo Muani in Frankfurt. Nunes is City's fourth new signing after Kovačić, Joško Gvardiol and winger Jeremy Doku.

Wijnaldum to move to Saudi Arabia

The entourage of players willing to move to Saudi Arabia – who would actually still be good enough for top European clubs – does not stop. Now Dutch international Georginio Wijnaldum is also interested in a transfer. The Paris Saint-Germain player has been linked with a move to Al-Ettifaq this summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 32-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract soon and bring PSG an almost double-digit million sum. Thus, the former Reds midfielder would play under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

João Félix should be allowed to move to the club of his choice Barcelona

João Félix, Portuguese international in the service of Atletico Madrid, has long flirted with a move to FC Barcelona. According to the Spanish sports newspaper »Marca«, he will probably get his wish granted. The 23-year-old attacker is said not to have trained with Atletico Madrid this morning because the Colchoneros had apparently reached an agreement with FC Barcelona over a transfer.

"Barcelona has always been my first choice and I would like to join Barça," Félix told transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 31-time Portugal international was on loan at Chelsea in the second half of last season, with Félix scoring just four times in 20 games for the Blues. His contract in Madrid runs until 2027.
