Major League Baseball Padres pitcher Yu Darvish started against the Dodgers on the 4th and pitched well, giving up two runs in seven innings, but the relievers were upset and the game was not won.

Darvish, who earned his eighth win of the season in his previous pitch, started five days against the Dodgers in San Diego.

The Dodgers are currently leading the National League West Division with the Padres, and the Padres have lost five straight games this season since Darvish became the winning pitcher.

Darvish gave up one run in the second inning when he hit a solo home run into the right stands by the No. 8 batter.

The team then came back to take a 5-5 lead in the seventh inning when they were hit by a two-base hit by the first batter and gave up one run on a timely infield hit, but they kept the rest of the game at bay.

Darvish walked off the mound in seven innings throwing 2 pitches, allowing five hits, striking out four and holding the powerful Dodgers to two runs without a foreball.

However, the relievers were unable to protect their lead, giving up five runs in the eighth inning and three more in the ninth, and the team lost the game 7-1.

Darvish is winless and has a 3.1 ERA this season, going 7-1.
