Juan José Perea surprisingly shot Hansa Rostock to the top of the Bundesliga 2 table with a late brace. The Colombian scored his goals in the 2-1 (0-0) win at newly promoted SV Elversberg at the end of a turbulent final phase (90+10, 90+13) and gave Rostock their second win of the season, which was no longer thought possible. Despite Carlo Sickinger's goal (56th), Elversberg suffered their first defeat in League Two.

"It's a dream come true for me. I became a father three days ago, this is for my wife and children," said match winner Perea, who was only on loan from VfB Stuttgart on Friday, on Sky. His goals were the latest in the second division since detailed data collection began in 2006/07.

Shortly before the end of the balanced first half, Elversberg narrowly missed the lead. Sickinger hit the crossbar after a corner from around ten meters (45th). After the break, the central defender did better. After another corner, he scored to give them a deserved lead. As a result, Elversberg was defensively secure for a long time and fended off most of the visitors' attacks.

Elversberg misses decisive penalty kick

Shortly before the end of the game, the newly promoted team had the chance to decide: Jannik Rochelt missed a foul penalty, Wahid Faghir scored with an extra shot, but had run into the penalty area too early (90.+3). After verification by the video assistant, the hit did not count.

In addition to Rostock, Holstein Kiel can also look forward to the perfect points haul after two games. Jonas Sterner (68') and Shuto Machino from a foul penalty (71') turned the home game around against the previous league leaders Greuther Fürth, who had taken the lead through a long-range shot by Branimir Hrgota from 40 meters (63').

Two other victorious teams of the first matchday separated goalless: FC St. Pauli picked up a point at home against Fortuna Düsseldorf, although central defender Karol Mets had been sent off in the closing stages for gross foul play with a red card (83rd).
