They did. Manchester City's players won the Champions League final against Inter Milan (10-1) on Saturday, June 0 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. This is the first Champions League won by the English club. He thus offers himself a treble this season, he who has already won the FA Cup and the championship of England and the FA Cup.

To win the final of the Champions League, the Cityzens suffered against the Nerazzurri, who did not stop pushing, without managing to get back to the score.

A poor first half

At the start of the match, City tried twice, in the first ten minutes, to find the net through Erling Haaland or Bernardo Silva – double scorer in the semi-final return against Real Madrid.

In the rest of the first period, opportunities are rarer. The Nerazzurri tried to impose their game, and tried to make breakthroughs, but they were pushed away by City's defence. Inter's defensive wall nevertheless held firm against the Cityzens.

We had to wait until the 27th minute to see the first big opportunity of the match. Served in the axis by Kevin de Bruyne, Erling Haaland enters the Nerazzurri's penalty area and tries his luck with his left foot. But his strike was stopped by Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana.

This first half saw one of the conductors of this Manchester City team, Kevin de Bruyne, leave on injury in the 35th minute of play. The Belgian international then had to give way to Phil Foden. The first period, balanced, ends in a draw.

Second half

During the second period, the temperature rises a notch. The first big opportunity is for Lautaro Martinez. In the 59th, Inter's Argentine striker took advantage of a misunderstanding following a backhand pass from Bernardo Silva. The world champion, however, saw his attempt deflected by City goalkeeper Ederson.

It was not until the 69th minute that the match was unlocked. A centre back, countered, Bernardo Silva, returns in the axis. Rodrigo arrives, launched, and opens the scoring with a flat right foot at the entrance of the penalty area. 1-0 for the Cityzens.

This did not discourage the Nerazzurri who successively created two good chances, by Dimarco (70th) and Lukaku (73rd), in the space of a few moments (70th and 73rd). Inter push, in the image, once again, of Lukaku. The Belgium international created a huge chance in the 89th minute, but his header attempt was pushed away by Ederson on his line. A reflex stop from City's Brazilian goalkeeper, and who saves his team.

But it will be nothing, Manchester City wins the game, and, therefore, the first Champions League in its history.
