The French basketball team will play five preparation matches, including four at home, before leaving on August 14 for the World Cup in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan (August 25-September 10), announced Sunday the French Federation.

To best approach the next Basketball World Cup, the French team will play five games by August 14, 2023. The Blues, reigning Olympic vice-champions and third in the 2019 World Cup, will begin their preparation on July 24 with an internship in Pau, where they will face Tunisia three days later. 

They will then take the road to Montpellier to challenge a European team qualified for the World Cup on August 2, before joining Orleans for two matches, on August 8 and 9, against Argentina and Lithuania. The Blues will then play a second match against the Baltic team, at home on August 11.

Victor Wembanyama's teammates will fly three days later to Asia, where they will play a final preparation tournament in a place and against opponents to be determined.

The France team will know its opponents during the draw on April 29, in Manila (Philippines).
