The 26-year-old Frenchman, fourth in the Worlds in 2017, beat Hungary's Bence Halasz by a small centimeter (78.18) but could not cope with the ogre of the discipline, the Polish Pawel Fajdek, who won his fourth consecutive world title with a throw at 80.50 meters.
