Quentin Bigot unlocked the French medal count at the World Cup in Doha, Qatar on Wednesday by taking silver in the hammer throw, with a throw at 78.19 meters, his best performance of the season.
The 26-year-old Frenchman, fourth in the Worlds in 2017, beat Hungary's Bence Halasz by a small centimeter (78.18) but could not cope with the ogre of the discipline, the Polish Pawel Fajdek, who won his fourth consecutive world title with a throw at 80.50 meters.
