ASM Clermont will play a charity match in Japan next February, during the break-up of the Six Nations Tournament.

Clermont will spend a week in Japan to play a charity game against a selection of players from the Japanese championship on February 2, during the cutoff of the Six Nations Tournament.

The goal of the ASM meeting with the top players in the Top League will be to raise funds " to help the victims of natural disasters that hit Japan hard, including the 2011 Tohoku tsunami and earthquake " said the league. But also, more opportunistically, " to increase the influence of the Top 14 internationally, strengthening its links with territories such as Japan that have a strong development potential for rugby ."

The team of Franck Azéma will spend a week on the spot before the match, disputed in Nagaragawa, north of Nagoya, in the center of the country.

The Auvergnats can afford such a move in the middle of the season thanks to the cut required by the start of the Six Nations Tournament. They will then have two weeks to recover from the trip and prepare the Bordeaux-Bègles reception on February 16th, on behalf of the 16th day of the Top 14.
