Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said that law enforcement officers on the eve of the World Cup this past summer stopped the activities of seven nationalist groups that intended to attack foreign fans.

“During the preparation of the championship, the activities of seven nationalist football groups were suppressed,” RIA Novosti quotes Kolokoltsev.

It is noted that the attacks were planned on the citizens of Senegal, Britain, Poland and Argentina.

Earlier it became known that the FSB of Russia stopped the attempts of extremists to use drones for terrorist attacks during the World Cup. This was stated by the director of the department, Alexander Bortnikov.
