Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal's top scorer and most of his country's international players, once again after coach Fernando Santos announced his squad for two matches in the UEFA Champions League.
Santos has already ruled out striker Ronaldo from the Portugal squad in September and October and said the decision was made in agreement with the 33-year-old, as he continued to adapt to the move from Real Madrid to Juventus.
"The only thing I will say about Ronaldo is that I hope he wins the Golden Ball, he deserves it, and it would be unfair not to win," said Santos, referring to the annual France Football event of the world's best player.
Portugal will face Italy on 17 November and will play home against Poland three days later.
Santos did not say if Ronaldo, who played for Portugal last time at the World Cup in Russia, will be recalled in next games in March.
"It's not about Ronaldo, and I've said that no player has been ruled out, it's not worth it, the future will only tell us what's going to happen, I do not know what's going to happen until next March; I have the talent to guess what will happen in the future. "
Portugal lead Group C with six points from two matches, and the tie with Italy means the team's move into the semi-finals.
