The Sochaux football club, current resident of Ligue 2, will be demoted "as a precautionary" in National, the third division, at the end of the season 2018-2019 because of financial diffucultés, announced Thursday the FCSM, following a decision by the DNCG.

Sochaux, owned by a major Chinese shareholder, was interviewed Thursday in Paris on its worrying budget by the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), the financial gendarme of French professional football.

In financial difficulty, the current 17th of the second division, at one point of the first relegation, was inflicted the same penalty as last year at the same period (early December 2017), before the DNCG finally lifts the penalty demotion.

"Confirmation of the management of the wage bill contained in the initial budget 2018/2019 and prohibition to recruit for valuable consideration. Demotion, as a precautionary measure, of the first team at the end of the current sports season " , laconically listed FC Sochaux-Montbéliard on its website.
