Chase Carey, the boss of Formula 1, wants to see more diversity - nationality, men / women-- among the paddock drivers, while the promoters of the discipline made official Wednesday the holding of a first Grand Prix in Vietnam in April 2020.

"We want to provide opportunities for drivers of different nationalities around the world, we would like to have a Chinese driver, an American pilot, a pilot, a Vietnamese pilot , " Chase Carey told Hanoi.

Currently, the vast majority of the twenty paddock pilots are Europeans. The paddock is exclusively male, and in sixty-nine editions of the F1 World Championship, only two women took the start of a Grand Prix (the Italian Maria Teresa de Filippis in the 1950s, and Maria Grazia "Lella" Lombardi in the 1970s).

"Nothing would please us more than having races around the world, having teams and drivers all over the world," Carey said.
