FIFA has launched the first World Cup in the Middle East, scheduled for Qatar in 2022.

"Four years from today, the World Cup will start, spread the news and start the countdown to Qatar 2022," FIFA said on its Twitter page.

"I am absolutely confident that the experience of the 2022 World Cup will be amazing for its visitors, my message to all football lovers around the world: Come to the Middle East, to the Gulf, come to Qatar and enjoy the best football experience," he said in a televised address to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

For its part, the Higher Committee for Projects and Heritage promoted the agency responsible for the projects of the World Cup Qatar 2022, to start the countdown through its official site and "Twitter" also through several consecutive tweets.

The committee broadcast a video entitled "Our journey towards hosting the first World Cup in the Arab World" in order to acquaint the public with the latest achievements and developments of stadiums and projects of the tournament.

The high commission has provided the eight venues to host the tournament.

According to one of the tweets, it is expected that the number of passengers through Hamad International Airport during the tournament 50 million passengers.

The Supreme Committee also indicated that Qatar will donate 170,000 stadium seats after the World Cup finals, noting that there are workers from 54 nationalities working in the projects of the "World Cup 2022".
