Dutch football team manager Marcel Kaiser submitted his resignation on Wednesday to the club's board of directors and apologized for not continuing the training after agreeing to the official offer by Sporting Lisbon to lead his training. From next week.
"Al-Jazira's football company accepted the resignation of Kaiser after he agreed to coach Sporting Lisbon, who offered a great financial offer to the coach to accept the mission," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
"According to the contract between Al Jazeera and technical director Kaiser, the latter paid the penalty clause for the termination of the contract by the half million euros."
The board of directors of the football company decided to appoint assistant coach and former Dutch coach Jan Fierlane as temporary coach for the team until the end of the season and perhaps for a limited period if the company succeeded in looking for a new manager as soon as possible to lead the team.
He previously led the island's training in the 2006 and 2007 seasons and served as assistant to the former coaching staff led by his compatriot Tin Cat. He also continued to work with Marcel Kaiser within the current coaching staff.
"We wish success to Kaiser in his new position and thank him for the time he led the Al Jazeera team," said Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Al-Jaz Company.
Coach Jan Fierlane is expected to lead the team on Thursday at 6:00 pm at Emirates Stadium in preparation for next Monday's Al-Nasr match in the fifth round of the Gulf Cup at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.
