The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (Rusada) has until December 31 to give the World Anti-Doping Agency access to its electronic database. A condition for the lifting of sanctions against Russia that the government is struggling to respect. What worries the president of the Russian agency, louri Ganous.

Russian Anti-Doping Agency (Rusada) boss Yuri Ganous is concerned that his government is not allowing the World Agency (WADA) to access the electronic database of the Rusada laboratory in Moscow by December 31, one of the conditions for ending WADA sanctions against Russia. "If we fail to meet the requirements of the AMA, the consequences will be devastating for us," said Yuri Ganous in a statement reported by Agence Tass. "I am worried about the evolution of the situation regarding access to data from the Moscow laboratory, the position of WADA has not changed, its purpose is to ensure access to laboratory data" , Mr Ganous added. The lifting of sanctions against Russia by WADA in September had raised an outcry of protest and the World Agency has provided for new sanctions in case of non-compliance. The WADA executive committee also requested possible "reruns" of samples by June 30, 2019, as well as an audit of the Rusada. Russia is still suspended from any competition by the International Athletics Federation. A decision will be "probably" made by the IAAF in December, according to its president Sebastian Coe.
