Al-Ahli club president Mahmoud Al-Khatib is wearing a medal in his pocket during the medal-giving ceremony that followed the Champions League final on Friday.
Esperance won a 3-0 win over Al Ahli and defeated the Champions League after a 4-3 aggregate win.
At the medal ceremony and the awarding of the trophy to the winner, the khateeb appeared as he put a medal in his pocket.
Comments were made through the media sites and accused some of the assassins President Ahli of acquiring a gold medal dedicated to the Tigray.
However, African Football Confederation member Tariq Bouchmawi confirmed that the information was baseless.
"The medal was reserved for Al Ahly and none of the players received it. The organizers chose to give it to Al Khatib as a representative of the club over the podium to be handed over to its owner later," Bouzmawi was quoted as saying.
Medals are given in a pre-arranged arrangement, with organizers having a specific list of medal winners at the coronation ceremony.
