Scottish First Minister Condemns Israel's Massacres in the Gaza Strip (French)

Scottish Prime Minister Hamza Yousef said that statements by senior ministers in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government about the displacement of Gazans to other countries and the reoccupation of the Strip are the traditional definition of ethnic cleansing.

Yousef said in a television interview on Friday that Israeli statements should be condemned and rejected, especially as the humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip worsens.

This follows statements by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich calling for the displacement of Gazans to countries that accept them as refugees, and the rebuilding of settlements in the Strip.

Yousef has repeatedly called for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and condemned the Israeli army's massacres in Gaza, especially the Jabalia massacre in the northern Gaza Strip, which killed and injured hundreds of Palestinians.

He also called for condemnation of the international disregard for human life and the killing of children in the Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that the parents of the Scottish Prime Minister's wife were stranded in Gaza at the outbreak of war on October 7, and were able to leave through the Rafah crossing with the implementation of the temporary humanitarian truce on November 24.
