As RIA Novosti points out, the organization emphasizes that more than 1.9 million people were forced to leave their homes, of which more than 1.4 million are in overcrowded shelters.

"These conditions contribute to the constant increase in infectious diseases. Today, Gaza has an average of only one shower per 4,5 people and one toilet per 220. Drinking water is still scarce and open bowel movements are increasing. These conditions make the spread of infectious diseases inevitable," the WHO said.

The organization noted that since mid-October, more than 100,150 cases of diarrhea, more than <>,<> cases of upper respiratory tract infections and numerous cases of meningitis, skin rashes, scabies, lice and chickenpox have been recorded in the Gaza Strip.

"Hepatitis is also suspected because many people show clear signs of jaundice," the statement added.

Earlier it was reported that the WHO team did not detect the use of hospitals in the Gaza Strip by the Hamas movement.
