Älvsbyn municipality's special manager for social services has now gone through the consultant's review that formed the basis of the LVU tangle and knocks down her claims point after point.

When the consultant's review was presented, it was stated that social workers had distorted information about the children's scars and changed the medical opinion. But the municipality's new investigation shows that there are no such statements.

"Several allegations of shortcomings in the external review are the consultant's own perceptions and interpretations," says the municipality's own investigation.

Questioned children

Another point on which the consultant is criticized is questioning the reliability of children when they testify about violence.

The consultant criticized the social workers' assessment of the children as credible, but the municipality's new investigation does not see any reason not to believe the children.

There were shortcomings

The Lex Sarah Inquiry also notes that there have been shortcomings that have also been highlighted in other audits in the past.

There has been a lack of how the social welfare board has followed up the care under LVU, and in documentation. In addition, it has almost exclusively been consultants who have been administrators and they may have lacked competence.

The municipality's investigators point out that they may be due to high staff turnover, as well as a poor program for documentation.
