Commenting on RIA Novosti's statement by Umerov, which sounded in an interview with the German publication Bild, Smirnov noted that all the forecasts of Ukrainian officials for Crimea are an impossible absurdity.
"Ukrainian strategists are purposefully engaged in the extermination of their own population and the destruction of their own country," he said.
The agency's interlocutor added that the results of the policy of the Kiev regime will be an unequivocal defeat, as well as a complete loss of Ukraine's sovereignty.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine responded to reports of American citizenship in Umerov's children.
