For several years, the non-profit organization Family Help has been helping those in need in the run-up to Christmas. In line with inflation, they have also noticed that more and more people are asking for help. This year, about 100 families are picking up presents and food for Christmas.

"We have noticed in recent years that the steps have been moved down a few steps. The ones that just made it before are hanging loose now, they're in free fall. And the average Swede has ended up where they just get by. There are more and more people who need help, says Sofia Heimer Karlsson, initiator.

Linda is a single mother with four children. She says that Christmas means extra stress as it is tough financially.
