French hostages, held by Hamas since October 7, are due to be released on Monday, according to Europe 1 news. After the various liberations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it would be the first time that French people would be present among the freed hostages if this were to be confirmed.

According to information from Europe 1, there is indeed talk of French hostages held by Hamas being freed on Monday. Several high-ranking sources confirm this possibility. Last week, Europe 1 reported that at least three Frenchmen were on the list of <> or so hostages who were supposed to be freed by Hamas.

Eight French people held hostage or missing

After the various liberations on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it would be the first time that French people would be present among the freed hostages if this were to be confirmed. However, we must remain very careful. As a reminder, eight of our compatriots are hostages or missing. What is certain is that if there is a release, it would be children, between the ages of 12 and 16.

While waiting for all this to be confirmed by Monday evening, several diplomatic sources already see it as a form of success for French diplomacy. Since the beginning of the conflict, Emmanuel Macron has tried to maintain a fine line between support for Israel and solidarity with Gazan civilians.
