EcoDataCenter, which is located in a relatively secluded location in the Ingarvet industrial area in Falun, is making the major investment through its owner Areim. The first part of the facility is already up and running, and at the same time, work is underway on the new data centers. A contract with a large international company has made the expansion possible and necessary.
"I can't say too much due to security reasons, but we're talking about a major global customer," says Peter Michelson, CEO of EcoDataCenter.
Artificial intelligence requires these halls
It is the almost explosive development in AI that has led to a rapid increase in the need for data capacity. The ongoing construction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025.
