Local media reported yesterday that Basenko proposed to postpone the creation of "necropolises" on the walls of the school.

"Yesterday, at a session of the Penza City Duma, an important topic was touched upon - perpetuating the memory of the fallen heroes of the NWO," Basenko wrote on Telegram.

He stressed that he treats the participants of the special military operation with the greatest respect. The Penza region is taking a large number of measures to provide social support to military personnel, Basenko said.

"The day before, from my message... Individual words were crudely pulled out and fraudulently put together, and disseminated by Telegram channels that are addicted to unhealthy sensations," the mayor of Penza said.

Basenko called for respect for Russian fighters and an end to information speculation.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov proposed to establish in Russia the Day of the Participant in the Special Military Operation in Ukraine.

A copy of the appeal addressed to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is at the disposal of RT.
