A 37-year-old woman is in serious condition after being strangled this afternoon by her partner on Colonia Erillas street in the Madrid district of Puente de Vallecas, according to 112. This new case of sexist violence has occurred in front of the couple's two children, aged one and two, who are currently being treated by psychologists from Summa.

The alleged murderer has notified 112 saying that he had killed his partner in front of their two children. He is 42 years old and has been arrested by the police. The woman has been transferred to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital after being resuscitated by the doctors of the Summa and the Samur who found her in respiratory arrest.

The incident occurred at around 18:49 p.m. when the alleged murderer telephoned 112 stating that he had ended the life of his partner. He insisted that he was not alive and that his two young children were in front of him.

The 112 emergency services have notified the police. Agents of the National Police and the Municipal Police have arrived at the scene and have found the woman unconscious and almost without a pulse. Then the doctors from the Summa and the Samur arrived and managed to revive the woman. After being stabilized, she has been transferred with a serious prognosis to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital.
