Sudan's sovereign council chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan (Reuters)

Sudanese Sovereignty Council President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Wednesday relieved 4 ministers of their posts and appointed 4 others to succeed them.

According to the media of the Sovereignty Council – in a statement – that Burhan issued a decision to end the assignment of Interior Minister Khaled Hassan Mohieldin, and Justice Minister Mohammed Saeed Helou of their duties, adding "the termination of the assignment of Batoul Abbas Awad of the duties of Minister of Industry, and Abdel Ati Ahmed Abbas of the duties of Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments."

1- Assigning Major General M Khalil Pasha Sayrin Amrakil – the duties of the Ministry of Interior.

2. Assigning Mr. Muawiya Othman Muhammad Khair to the duties of the Ministry of Justice.

3. Assigning Mrs. Mahasen Ali Yaqoub to the duties of the Ministry of Industry.

4- Assigning Mr. Osama Hassan Mohamed Ahmed – to the duties of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments.

A statement by the Sovereign Council also said that Burhan assigned Major General Khalil Pasha Sayrin to the duties of the Ministry of Interior, Muawiya Othman Mohamed Khair to the duties of the Ministry of Justice, Mahasen Ali Yaqoub to the duties of the Ministry of Industry, and Osama Hassan Mohamed to the duties of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments.

On the other hand, the Sudanese Sovereignty Council's Facebook page and Sudanese media reported that Burhan had assigned 6 state governors out of 18 states in the country.

In a separate statement, the council said Burhan had issued a decision to appoint four new governors for the states of Jazira, Kassala, West Kordofan, and the northern state.

The President of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council issued on the first of November a decision to end the assignment of 5 ministers of their duties, and the appointment of others instead of them, namely the ministers of energy and oil, trade and supply, transport, labor and administrative reform, and livestock, without revealing the statements of the Sovereignty Council reasons for these decisions.

Since mid-April 2023, Sudan has been witnessing clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo "Hemedti", which have left more than 9,6 dead, as well as more than <> million displaced people and refugees inside and outside the country, according to the United Nations.
