With increasing amounts of snow, the roe deer in Västernorrland and Jämtland are struggling with food shortages. The Hunters' Association Mitt Norrland has 23 local game management circles in Jämtland and Västernorrland and now everyone can apply for SEK 10,000 for supplementary feeding.

"About 40 percent are at risk of dying of starvation if we don't provide supplementary feeding," says Per-Arne Olsson of the Hunters' Association Mitt Norrland.

Supplementary feeding means that hunters provide extra food to help the deer survive during the demanding winter months.

The Hunters' Association Mitt Norrland points out that feeding the animals is a way to reduce their suffering under these conditions.

In the video above, you will hear about what to think about when it comes to supplementary feeding.
